Foundational to the health of an individual is the concept of identity. Identity is the cornerstone of how an individual sees him or herself. Sexual identity refers to how a person relates to his or her physiological gender.
Some individuals may find themselves caught in confusion as they consider their sexuality. Parents may notice signs of discomfort and uncertainty in the development of sexual identity in their children. Adults may also find themselves struggling with serious questions and concerns.
At The Antioch Group we realize the complexities that may come with sexual development. Our therapists work with our clients to help them understand their sexuality in a healthy and positive way. We want to help remove the barriers of confusion, shame, and guilt that may be blocking the way to a healthy sexual identity. There can be freedom from confusion and shame in the light of truth and hope.
